01 / Building a Culture
As a business (particularly in tech) it's easy to paint a rosy picture of a sleek, flexible work culture without really committing to it — but that's not for us. We are fully dedicated to building a positive culture and developing talented people who seamlessly adapt to the dynamic of each client they support.
02 / Training & Skills
From monthly training days for the whole Inov8 team; to the client product training we deliver; to clear career progression pathways for staff in all departments — we equip our teams to succeed, to ensure our clients do too.
03 / Project Management
Great projects are built on diligent project management, and the Inov8 team supports clients with planning, resource management, budget control and review processes on a regular basis. A little organisation and anticipation goes a long way — and we are ready to help.
01 / Planning
Fail to plan, plan to fail? We think so.
Planning is a hugely important aspect of any project to ensure you can track, measure and deliver what you set out to do. It guides your delivery journey and lets you communicate clearly where things are going well, and where they are not.
Whether its Microsoft Project or Jira or a spreadsheet you pulled together, the importance is in maintaining the information it contains so that it is timely, accurate and up to date at any check point/milestone/sprint end.
02 / Management
How you manage your resources and ensure they are well utilised at the right times of each project delivery stage is critical to your success and staying on budget. Some tools allow you to manage resources against tasks and the responsibility for assigning work can be against the resource themselves or the project manager. As such communication is key when it comes to resource management.
Ensuring you know the simple things first; holidays, appointments and working hours sets your foundation for the project duration. Then moving to educating everyone in estimating duration of work. You would be surprised how much deviation there is if you asked 5 people to do the same estimate.
03 / Control
Ever seen a project come in on or under budget? We have!
Being critical of your objectives up front and ensuring appropriate discovery means your budget estimations are realistic. We are not saying you will like them! But being transparent and open will mean you are more likely to stay on or under budget. On the flip side it is a fine balance between the realistic budget estimates and the positioning of overly high. Going the other way wont even get past your first stage governance.
Being realistic is a skill in itself, communicating that to your stakeholders is another important check point.
04 / Review
Once any project is delivered you need to ensure it has delivered fully in line with expectations and requirements. We do this using strict post implementation review frameworks. This includes governance, sign offs and handover of the document inventory which will help the project move into business ownership and control. Having a timeline review of steering groups minutes and governance checkpoints brings to life the value in what has been delivered.
Visualising the data also gives you that key facts report for your exec sponsor and makes sure you and your project team get the win from all their hard work.
Developing Is Our Culture
We are fully dedicated to developing our solutions and our people. We focus on continuing to build a culture where our people sharpen their technical and non-technical skills in a structured and supported environment.
